Man charged in Sussex Police operation to tackle anti-social driving

Five vehicles were stopped as part of a police operation to tackle anti-social driving in Horsham.

Operation Cruz is targeting dangerous, anti-social driving and behaviour across West Sussex.

An arranged car meet, which was meant to take place at Kilnwood Vale in breach of the local public spaces protection order, was halted on Saturday, 25 November.

Four cars were stopped due to illegal number plates and modifications in relation to the event. The vehicles were reported to the DVLA.

Another car was stopped for appearing to be driving erratically.

Stephen Casimir, 46, of Cowfold Close, Crawley was arrested and later charged with drink-driving.

He is due to appear before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 11 December.

Inspector Mike Butler said: “Another great result for Operation Cruz and it is important we show the community that we are tackling anti-social driving head on.”
