A man has been charged with a shoplifting spree at a branch Marks and Spencer, Sussex Police said.
The force said: “A man has been charged with multiple counts of shoplifting from Marks and Spencer in East Grinstead.
“Jamie Hendey was arrested on Tuesday 20 May and charged with 11 offences from the store, in London Road, between Saturday 12 April and Sunday 18 May.
“The 31-year-old, of London Road, East Grinstead, has been remanded in custody to appear before Crawley Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 22 May).”
Superintendent Imran Asghar said: “My officers and staff worked tirelessly ensuring the suspect was arrested as soon as we identified him from a video posted on social media.
“These charges and subsequent remand application to Crawley Magistrates’ Court is a clear message to people in Crawley and Mid Sussex that if you commit offences, we will do all we can to ensure you are brought to justice and our communities remain safe.”
