Four fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were sent to deal with a shed fire last night (Friday 17 May).
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that a 999 call was received shortly before 8pm.
It said that crews were sent in response to reports of a shed fire in Filsham Road, in the St Leonards area of Hastings.
The fire service said last night: “As of 8.30pm, we have four fire engines and the aerial ladder platform at the scene.
“Crews are wearing breathing apparatus and using main jets to put the fire out.
“There are no reports of injuries.
“Please avoid the area while we work and, if you live locally, please keep doors and windows closed to avoid the smoke.”
The fire service issued two updates. The first said: “As of 8.40pm, we are scaling the incident back to three fire engines.”
The final update said: “As of 9.30pm, we have left the scene. The fire was accidental.”
