Dawn Hudd has been appointed as the new CEO of Arun District Council.
Members approved the recommendation to appoint the new Chief Executive Officer unanimously at a full council meeting on Thursday, May 9.
The recommendation was made by the recruitment and selection panel, made up of councillors, with panel member Roger Nash (Lab, Pevensey) saying he believed they had found ‘exactly the right person’ for the council.
This will see Karl Roberts, director of growth at the council, and Phillipa Dart, director of environment and communities, replaced as joint interim CEOs, a role they have filled since 2023.
This was because the previous full time CEO, James Hasset, resigned in March 2023 after less than two years in the role, having started in October 2021, described by members as a ‘complete shock’ at the time.
