A fire crew put out a blaze in a blaze in a chip shop this afternoon (Thursday 18 June).
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters attended a fire in Battle Road, in St Leonards, after receiving a 999 call at 3.41pm.
“A fryer in a fish and chip shop was on fire.
“Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, hose reel and a thermal imaging camera.
“A fan was used in the flat above to clear smoke.
“A reinspection took place at 7pm to ensure any hot spots were out.
“There were no injuries and the fire was accidental.”
