A man has been charged with raping a woman in Worthing.
Stephen Robinson, 68, of Cheviot Road, is accused of committing the offence in Salvington Road, Durrington, at around 5.55pm on Thursday (7 May).
He was remanded in custody and appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court for an initial hearing today (Saturday 9 May).
He has since been further remanded to appear in the crown court on Monday 8 June.
The victim – a 37-year-old woman – has received specialist support as detectives continue to investigate the circumstances.
