Three teenage boys have appeared in court after a 16-year-old was stabbed to death outside Seaford railway station.
One of the defendants is 15 years old and the other two are 16. None of them can be named for legal reasons.
One of the 16-year-olds has been charged with the murder of Joshua Ingram, from Newhaven, on Wednesday 10 September.
The other two have been charged with conspiring to commit grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.
They appeared at Lewes Crown Court before Judge Christine Laing, the honorary recorder of Brighton and Hove, yesterday (Monday 22 December).
She told them that they would face a jury at the end of March next year, with their trial expected to take three weeks.
An arraignment – or formal plea hearing – has been scheduled for Tuesday 16 January.
An inquest has been opened into Josh Ingram’s death and adjourned until the criminal case is complete.
The coroner’s court was told that the boy bled to death after he was stabbed in the heart.
At a previous hearing at Brighton Magistrates’ Court, Joseph Lewis, prosecuting, said that Josh was ambushed and killed over a £20 drugs debt.
