An armed robber threatened shop staff with a hammer yesterday morning (Saturday 10 May).
Sussex Police issued a security camera picture today and said: “Can you help us identify this man?
“Police responded to a robbery at the Co-op, in Ham Road, Shoreham, which happened just after 7am on Saturday 10 May.
“A man entered the shop and threatened staff with a hammer and got away with a quantity of cash.
“The suspect is described as white, approximately 5ft 11in and of large, stocky build with copper-coloured hair.
“He was wearing a black hoodie, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.
“Police are linking this robbery to an incident at Shoreham News, in nearby Buckingham Road, moments earlier where a man is reported to have threatened staff and tried to steal cigarettes.
“No injuries were reported from either incident.
“Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 999 quoting serial 270 of 10/5.”
