Police are investigating the death of two people who were found in a house yesterday afternoon (Friday 2 May).
One was dead and the other was suffering from a serious head injury after officers went to an address in College Road, Bexhill, to carry out a welfare check.
Sussex Police said that a call came in at about 12.15pm yesterday, raising concerns about the two people.
One of them was a 75-year-old man who was found dead inside the property when officers arrived.
The other was a 90-year-old woman who was found with a serious head injury.
She was reported to have been taken to hospital by air ambulance.
But she was declared dead earlier today.
Sussex Police said that it was currently treating the deaths as unexplained and inquiries were continuing to try to establish the full circumstances.
The force added that people in the area could expect to see a heightened police presence in the coming days.
