A beauty supplement producer is set to move into offices previously occupied by posh frock company The Vampire’s Wife.
Ancient and Brave, which is currently based in Uckfield, has bought The Riverside Centre in Lewes, which overlooks the Ouse.
The building, next to the Riverside Cafe and other independent businesses in the town centre, was built in 1902 as a church Sunday school.
The Vampire’s Wife, owned by Suzie Cave, was based there for several years until it went into administration last September.
According to documents filed to Companies House, Mrs Cave’s husband Nick Cave personally paid outstanding property costs relating to the company’s lease.
The building’s landlords put it up for sale for £775,000, and its agents Flude Property consultants this week announced Ancient and Brave had bought it.
The company, which makes supplements designed to support health and beauty, plans to modernise the building, while carefully preserving its unique character.
Flude Surveying Executive, Nick Martin, said: “We are delighted to have completed this sale and to see the building being brought into use by a forward-thinking, locally based company.
“Ancient + Brave’s investment in Lewes is a testament to the town’s thriving business community, and we look forward to seeing what they do with the property.”
