New independent cafe to open in Worthing

An independent cafe is planning to open at a former chippy in a Worthing shopping parade.

The Moon by Sea already has an alcohol licence for a new cafe/bar/restaurant at the unit in Goring Road.

Operator Little Green Apples Limited has permission to open from 8am to 11pm seven days a week, and to sell alcohol from 11am.

It also has permission to sell alcohol to drink off the premises.

Two planning applications have now been submitted for signage and a new shopfront.

The application says: The site is situated at 28 Goring Road which is a popular neighbourhood shopping parade on the outskirts of Worthing providing a mix of national (Costa Coffee, Card Factory, Iceland, Tesco Express and Boots) brands and independent retailers, eateries, drinking establishments and office occupiers.

“The pavement at this location is wide with exterior seating at the restaurant next door at number 26.

“The property is part of a 1930’s build block of shop units with flats above.

“The design of the shopfront includes a new stallriser and three sash windows to allow a connection
between the exterior seating and interior and easily closed without disturbing customers when the
outside area closes.”
