A former sports trainer has been jailed after cocaine worth £100,000 was found at his home.
Callum Stuart, 25, was caught when the Audi he was driving was pulled over in East Grinsted and police found £1,500 in cash in the glovebox as well as cannabis.
He claimed he had found the knife and knuckle duster found in a bag in the car.
But when the address he was staying at was searched, detectives found cocaine worth an estimated £100,000 and £43,000 in cash, alongside drugs paraphernalia, burner phones and documents detailing drug supply.
Stuart, of Greenfields Road, Horley, was charged with six offences and at Lewes Crown Court on November 15 he was jailed for four years, having pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing.
The court was told how SEU officers were on patrol in East Grinstead when they stopped the Audi in Stoneleigh Close on January 10, 2022.
Speaking after the case, Detective Inspector Gary Jacobs said: “SEU officers routinely patrol the road network with the intention of disrupting criminal networks using the roads here in Sussex.
“We are determined to disrupt the supply of drugs, and other organised criminality, which cause so much harm in our communities.
“Following the investigation by our CIT team, Stuart had no choice but to plead guilty when the case went to court.
“We are pleased that this has been reflected in a significant custodial sentence in court.”
