Icy patches are expected to form overnight as temperatures plummet below or close to freezing, the Met Office is warning.
A yellow be aware weather warning was issued this afternoon, starting at 5pm until 10am tomorrow.
It says: “Rain, sleet and snow will continue to clear southwards across England and Wales with clearing skies to follow.
“Temperatures are expected to fall below or close to freezing quite widely across the warning area with icy patches forming on untreated freezing surfaces.”
The warning says that icy patches are likely to form on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, and has warned of the chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
