A man has been charged with robbing a chemist’s shop at knifepoint and is due to appear in court tomorrow (Tuesday 30 April).
Michael Youssefi was arrested at the weekend after two pharmacies reported that a man with a knife had demanded drugs although one said that he left empty-handed.
Today (Monday 29 April), the force said: “A man who was arrested following two reports of robberies at pharmacies in Pevensey and Eastbourne on Saturday (27 April) has now been charged.
“Michael Youssefi, 42, of Seven Acre Close, St Leonards, is charged with robbery at Kamsons Pharmacy, in Victoria Drive, Eastbourne, attempted robbery at Boots Pharmacy, in Eastbourne Road, Pevensey, and also being in possession of a knife in a public place.
“He has been remanded in custody to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 30 April.”
