After a day of severe disruption yesterday , according to National Rail, Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express rail service disruption because of Storm Henk has now passed and all services are said to be running as normal.
Now, for the most part across England, Network Rail says “services are now returning to normal following the severe weather yesterday”.
National Rail said on its website: “Disruption to various routes on the Southern, Gatwick Express, Great Northern and Thameslink networks following severe weather has now ended.”
Yesterday, train operators and National Rail advised travellers to only travel by rail only if was essential. National Rail said yesterday: “Forecast severe weather today will impact a number of Southern routes. Speed restrictions are in place meaning trains will have to run at a reduced speed. Trains may be delayed or revised Disruption is expected until 21:00.
