A woman has been stabbed and taken to hospital for treatment while a suspect has been arrested and will spend Christmas behind bars before facing court on Boxing Day.
Sussex Police said this afternoon (Sunday 24 December) that a man had been remanded in custody, charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm (GBH).
The force said: “Police were called to an address in St Leonards at 4.38am on Friday (22 December) following a report of an assault.
“A 27-year-old woman was taken to hospital to be treated for an injury consistent with being stabbed.
“She has since been discharged and is being supported by officers.
“Following inquiries, Kerri Fordham, 37, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with GBH with intent, criminal damage and breaching a non-molestation order.
“He has been remanded in custody to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (26 December).”
