A shoplifter left a woman with facial injuries and assaulted store staff, Sussex Police said, as they published a security camera picture of the suspect.
The force said: “Officers would like to speak with the man seen in CCTV following a report that shop staff and a member of the public were assaulted in a Chichester supermarket.
“On Saturday 18 October, a person was reported to have attempted to steal items from the shop in Oliver Whitby Road.
“As he left the premises, the man was challenged and subsequently assaulted shop staff as well as a woman.
“The woman sustained facial injuries during the incident.
“Police have been working to identify the man in the images as he may be able to assist further inquiries.
