NHS procedures to be offered at new private hospital in Worthing

A private hospital will be used by NHS patients for eye, skin, gastric and other services when it opens in Worthing this summer.

Community Health and Eyecare Limited (Chec) is currently fitting out its new base in Montague Street, which it hopes will be open by May.

The company, which runs a network of community hospitals and clinics across the country, is currently fitting out the new premises, which include an ophthalmology theatre and endoscopy suite.

Jose Bailey, chief commercial officer, said: “Patient choice, exceptional care and equity of access are central to CHEC’s operations and ethos, which is why we’re proud to collaborate with NHS partners nationwide, helping to keep waiting times to a minimum while delivering the very best quality of care.

“For well over a decade, we’ve been trusted by the NHS to deliver healthcare services free of charge, and we can’t wait to open our doors and become part of the Worthing community.

“In the meantime, we’d welcome any residents to get in touch and learn more about how we work with the NHS to make much-needed treatments more readily accessible.”

The company says that once open, the hospital will offer appointments for treatments within four weeks of receipt of referral.

As well as NHS patients, it will also treat private patients via its partner Clarity.
