Police pledge to step up help for victims of domestic violence over Christmas

Sussex Police has pledged to step up help for victims of domestic violence over Christmas.

The force said: “There’s no excuse for domestic abuse – not at Christmas, not ever.

“Sadly, reports of domestic violence increase over the festive season. That’s why we’re ramping up our efforts to keep you safe this Christmas.

“Over the next few weeks we and our partners will be making special visits to high-risk victims and perpetrators of domestic violence.

“Please don’t suffer in silence. You can call 101 or 999 in an emergency. Or report online and we can show you how to delete your history.

“If you call 999 but can’t speak, press 55 to get through to the police.”
