A 62-year-old man is due in court charged with trying to kill a 70-year-old man by stabbing him.
Sussex Police said: “A man has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Bognor
“A 62-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Bognor on Wednesday (7 October).
“Michael Hames, of Hazel Road, Bognor, has also been charged with threats to kill, assault by beating and possession of a knife.
“He is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 9 October).
“A 70-year-old man, from Bognor, has been treated and released from hospital.
“The two men are known to each other.”
Detective Superintendent Colin Garman said: “This is a fast-moving investigation.
“We understand the concern this incident would have caused the community.
“I would like to assure them that there was no wider threat to the public.”
