Four school-age teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of robbery, Sussex Police said today (Tuesday 28 July).

The force said: “Four teenagers have been arrested after a robbery in Aldwick Street, Bognor, on Wednesday 22 July at around 8pm.

“Police were called to a report of a fight taking place in the street.

“Officers attended the scene and it was reported that a woman and a man had been assaulted by a group of around five young people who also stole the man’s phone.

“The group were located near by on the beach and, following a pursuit on foot, officers arrested four people in connection with the incident.

“Two boys, aged 14 and 16, and a 15-year-old girl, were arrested on suspicion of robbery, and 14-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of robbery and racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress through words or writing.

“All four teenagers have been bailed while the investigation remains ongoing.

“Officers are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry and encourage anyone with information that could aid the investigation to come forward.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has relevant information such as CCTV, mobile or dashcam footage can report to police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 1519 of 22/07.”
