Court remands man charged with strangling a woman

A man who has been charged with making threats to kill has been remanded in custody after being brought before a court.

Daniel Holland, 40, appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Saturday 1 November) charged with sending a communication threatening death or serious harm.

The magistrates remanded Holland, of Southwater Street, Southwater, and Quex Park, Park Road, Birchington, Kent, until Tuesday 11 November at Crawley Magistrates’ Court.

Sussex Police said: “A man has been charged following reports that a threatening video was shared online in September.

“Daniel Holland, 40, of Southwater Street, Southwater, was first arrested on 5 September as part of inquiries into a video showing a man making threats to kill.

“He was later released on bail while the investigation continued.

“On Friday (31 October), Holland was arrested again on suspicion of sending a communication containing threats to kill or cause serious harm.

“He was charged the following morning with the offence and appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court, where he was remanded in custody ahead of his next hearing on Tuesday 11 November.

“If you feel you have further information to support the ongoing investigation, you can make a report to police either online, or by calling 101 quoting reference 359 of 30/10.”
