A crash closed the A27 in both directions for several hours including the morning rush hour today (Thursday 19 June).
Sussex Police said: “Emergency services were called to a serious collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A27, Firle, involving three vehicles.
“The incident was reported at 7.20am this morning.
“Three people were taken to hospital by the ambulance service with injuries not thought be serious at this time.
“There was a full closure of the A27 carriageway in both directions between the Drusillas roundabout and Beddingham roundabout.
“The Selmeston and Common Lane junctions were also closed.”
Shortly after midday, Sussex Police said: “The road has now been reopened.”
