A man charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl has been ordered to appear before a crown court judge later this month.
Shaun Gannon, 68, of Top Cross Road, Bexhill, was remanded on bail when he appeared at Hastings Magistrates’ Court to answer a series of charges.
Sussex Police said: “A man has appeared in court accused of sexual offences against a young girl known to him.
“Shaun Gannon, 68, appeared before Hastings Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 2 April.
“It relates to a Sussex Police investigation launched in 2023 of a girl known to him who cannot be identified for legal reasons.
“She has received support from specially trained officers.
“The alleged offences relate to the early 2020s.
“Gannon, of an address in Crowhurst, was charged with three counts of sexual assault by touching of a girl under the age of 13 and two counts of making a photograph or pseudo photograph of a child.
“He has been bailed to appear before a crown court in Sussex on Wednesday 30 April to answer the charges.”
