Car chased by police drove into oncoming traffic

A car pursued by police drove so dangerously, including into oncoming traffic, that officers were forced to give up the chase

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with relevant CCTV of the pursuit through Bognor to come forward.

It happened from about 9.10pm to 9.20pm on January 20.

Officers were alerted to the vehicle, a grey Kia Sportage, where the driver to stop for police initially in Victoria Drive.

During a short pursuit through the town, the driver struck street furniture and drove into oncoming traffic.

The Kia Sportage passed through Victoria Drive, the Squareabout, the High Street and London Road.

It was found abandoned in Stocker Road.

Officers from Arun Neighbourhood Policing Team are appealing for anyone in the area with dashcam, CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage of the driver or the Kia Sportage to come forward.

Information can be reported to Sussex Police online, quoting serial 1181 of 20/01.
