A man has been charged with burgling a bank and will spend Christmas and the new year behind bars as he awaits a hearing before a crown court judge.
Marc Tatnell is charged with breaking into the Halifax branch, in Terminus Road, Eastbourne, last week and stealing £80.
Tatnell was also charged with damaging a cash machine when he appeared before Brighton magistrates last Friday (13 December).
He was refused bail, in part because of the nature and seriousness of the offence.
