A man was due to appear in court today (Monday 16 September) charged with arson with intent to endanger life after a dog died in a house fire in Crawley.
Sussex Police and West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called out to Creasys Drive, in Broadfield, on Saturday afternoon (14 September).
No one was injured although a dog died in the fire.
Adrian West, 60, of no fixed address, was arrested and has since been charged with several offences.

Sussex Police said that he remained in custody, awaiting his appearance at Crawley Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 16 September).
The force added that there would be a heightened police presence in the area in the meantime as officers continued their inquiries and to provide community reassurance.
