A second 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a man was found with stab wounds outside a railway station, Sussex Police said.
Officers had already arrested a boy of 16 after a 21-year-old was found stabbed outside Three Bridges railway station, in Haslett Avenue East, Crawley, shortly before 3.30pm on Wednesday (28 August).
The incident happened 10 days after a 19-year-old mother was stabbed to death near Crawley railway station.
And on Sunday 25 August a 20-year-old man was stabbed during what police was “a shocking and violent robbery” by three men in Creasys Drive.
After the latest knife attack, the force said: “Emergency services were called to a report of a man found with a stab wound on the forecourt of Three Bridges railway station, Haslett Avenue East, Crawley, on Wednesday (28 August) at 3.25pm.
“The victim, a 21-year-old man, from Littlehampton, was taken to hospital where he has since been discharged.
“A 16-year-old boy, from Bognor, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.
“He has been released on conditional bail, pending further inquiries.
“Another 16-year-old boy, from Crawley, was arrested on Friday 30 August on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
“He has also been released on conditional bail.”
Detective Inspector Gary Jacobs said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident and poses no threat to the wider public.
“We are appealing to any witnesses or anyone who may have been in the area at the time who could aid the investigation.
“Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to report online or call 101 quoting 819 of 28/08.”
