Elections for the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner will be taking place on Thursday 2 May 2024.
Katy Bourne will be standing for re-election, and a 4th term in the £118,453* role as PCC.
The core functions of a PCC is to secure the maintenance of an efficient and effective police force within their area, and to hold the chief constable to account for the delivery of the police and crime plan.

If you want to vote in the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner election, you must be registered to vote by midnight on Tuesday 16 April.
* Includes employer contributions to National Insurance and pension in the year 2022-23.
If you can’t get to a polling station on the day, you can also apply for a postal or proxy vote.
You must apply for a postal vote by 5pm on 17 April at the latest, but we recommended applying earlier so your postal vote can be sent to you sooner.
You can also ask someone you trust to vote on your behalf – this is known as a proxy vote. You should apply for a proxy vote by 5pm on 24 April or change existing proxy arrangements by 5pm on 17 April.
