Albion are confirmed in sixth place in the Premier League and confirm beyond all doubt place in the group stages of the Europa League.

Albion fell behind to a Phil Foden goal on 25 minutes after slick books up play from Riyad Mahrez and Erling Haaland

It looked like Albion had found a way back after Karou Mitoma bundled the ball home – but his effort was disallowed for hand ball after a VAR check.

Albion drew level with a wonder goal from Julio Encisco his first at the Amex – Levi Colwill found the Seagulls Paraguayan who unleashed an unstoppable drive into the top corner for 1-1.

Albion looked to have gone ahead but Danny Welbeck was adjudged offside and his effort five minutes before half time was again ruled out.

In the second half the Premier League record scorer Haaland  looked to have put City back in front with a crisp header but VAR ruled he had fouled Colwill in the build up.

Before the end Pervis Estupinan saw a fantastic effort whistle inches wide of the post.

On the day club captain Lewis Dunk was recalled to the England squad after five years in the wilderness Albion showed the world their quality and achievement as they finished in the top six and are now an recognised top six side – who will try and deprive Aston Villa of European football in the season finale at Villa this Sunday.
