A man suffered significant injuries when he was stabbed in a park this afternoon (Saturday 28 February), Sussex Police said.

The force said: “Officers are investigating a report that a man was stabbed in Victoria Park, Worthing, at around 2.45am on Saturday, 28 February.

“Two men were reported to have attacked the victim after a brief interaction in the park.

“This left the victim, a man in his forties, with significant injuries.

“He was immediately taken to hospital and remains there in a stable condition at this time.

“The suspects are described as approximately between 20 and 30-years-old, white and wearing grey tracksuits with their hoods up and faces covered.

“Police are working to trace those responsible and ask if you witnessed what happened or if you have footage from the nearby area, you make a report.

“Contact police online or by calling 101, quoting Operation Evesham.”
