Two cars crashed early this morning (Wednesday 4 February), leaving one person dead and another injured and in a serious condition.

Emergency services were called to the scene, near Scotney Court Farm, in Jurys Gap Road, between Camber and Lydd, close to the East Sussex border with Kent, shortly before 5am.

South East Coast Ambulance Service treated two people at the scene and took one of them to the William Harvey Hospital, in Ashford.

The other died at the scene.

Sussex Police said earlier: “We are currently responding to a serious collision in Jurys Gap Road, Camber.

“The incident involving two vehicles is reported to have occurred at around 4.49am this morning.

“A section of the road is likely to be closed for some time as emergency services remain at the scene and drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes in the meantime.”
