Green Door Store’s legendary annual two-day free entry festival is back for 2026: there’s only one 234. Championing new sounds and celebrating the colourful world of community, friendship and love that takes place within the confines of those large green doors underneath the train station all year round- 234 Fest is a cherished event in the Brighton music scene’s calendar.

Since opening their cobblestone dancefloor up to the public in 2011, the Green Door Store has been an integral pillar of the grassroots underbelly of the city. January of this year saw four separate shows celebrating 15 years of the venue, all at full capacity with buzzing atmospheres, showing just how much this venue means to the city all these years later. A melting pot of creative, like-minded individuals, united over shared values, ethoses, and of course a love of discovering the best new sounds- the venue proudly maintains its deserved place as part of the fabric of this city.

With 21 bands split across two days, 234 Fest is a chance to indulge in the finest new sounds, witness the greatest newcomers, and may even be the last chance to catch an artist in an intimate setting before sailing on to dizzying heights. Recent years have seen the likes of Lambrini Girls, English Teacher, Lime Garden, Honeyglaze & Man/Woman/Chainsaw play spellbinding sets at the festival on their way to becoming alternative heavyweights. Who might be one of the “I was there” sets this year?

This year sees the Saturday welcome in an eclectic palette of sound with art and the avant garde rooted at its core, flowing through the worlds of shoegaze, folk, post-punk, indie, glam-rock and jazz.

Saturday’s lineup:

Truthpaste (venue)

Attic’O’Matic (venue)

Ladylike (venue)

Thimble (venue)

Moon Idle (venue)

Not Richard & Her Majesty (bar)

Lindow Man (venue)

Design Fault (venue)

Grimrite (venue)

Girl Apocrypha (venue)

Oral Habit (midnight after party at The Rossi Bar)

Knives (pic Sara-Louise Bowrey), Ladylike  (pic Rob Orchard), Lindow Man (Sara-Louise Bowrey), & Mindframe (John Bownas)

Sunday on the other hand invites you to open up the pit and embrace a cascading cacophony of punk, alt rock, doom & grunge to close out your weekend in raucous style.

Sunday’s lineup:

Knives (venue)

City Dog (venue)

Kitchen Lover (venue)

Soft (venue)

Mindframe (venue)

Jar Of Blind Flies (bar)

Carne (venue)

Highdrive (venue)

Muttering (venue)

Hollowpoint (venue)

234 Fest is an open invitation to come soak in the atmosphere, bathe in sound and be part of something special. With a food truck and bar in the garden, and every corner of the venue filled with smiling faces: this festival is Green Door Store’s chance to say thank you to the people who give grassroots a go and keep not only this venue, but all the wonderful spots around the city thriving all year.

Save the dates – 26th & 27th September 2026.

The Green Door Store is located at Unit 2, 3, & 4 Trafalgar Arches, Lower Goods Yard, Brighton Train Station, Brighton, BN1 4FQ.
