A man was stabbed outside a shop in Eastbourne yesterday evening (Sunday 6 September) and taken to hospital for treatment.
Sussex Police said that a call came in at about 6pm, reporting that a man was injured outside the Premier Store, in Susans Road, Eastbourne, by the corner of Longstone Road.
Sussex Police said: “A 39-year-old man was located near by and had an injury consistent with a stabbing and was taken to hospital.”
Chief Inspector Karen Osborn said: “There will be an increased police presence in the area while we respond to this incident and to provide reassurance.
“We believe this was an isolated incident that did not pose a threat to the wider community.
“Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to come forward, quoting serial 1142 of 06/09.”
