A man is due to appear in court tomorrow (Monday 9 March) after a seafront stabbing.
Sussex Police said: “A 25-year-old man is to appear in court after a man was stabbed at The Esplanade, Worthing, on Thursday (5 March).
“Clayton Ellis, of no fixed address, has been charged with wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article in public.
“He is due to appear before Worthing Magistrates’ Court on Monday (9 March).
“This follows an incident when a local man in his thirties was stabbed at around 3:20pm on Thursday.
“The victim remains in hospital in a stable condition.
“A 31-year-old man, from Worthing, was arrested for assisting an offender and he has been bailed for further inquiries.”
Detective Constable Sophie Chaplain said: “Those involved are known to each other and I want to reassure the local community that we are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.
“We urge anyone who may be able to assist us in our investigation to get in touch, either with CCTV, ring doorbell footage or dashcam footage.
