Brighton based quartet Swallowtail have today announced a host of UK concerts for this coming Autumn, and thankfully two of these will be happening here in Brighton. The first of these will be a headline set at the Green Door Store on Saturday 11th October with tickets on sale very soon. The second will be at The Hope & Ruin on Wednesday 22nd October as support to Guildford based quintet Aqualine, who comprise Ben on vocals, Patrick on lead guitar, Will on rhythm guitar, Gray on bass, and Sam on drums. Together, they craft an explosive yet melancholic blend of alternative rock, drawing inspiration from a diverse range of genres such as shoegaze, grunge, hip-hop, and experimental ambiance. Known for translating their recorded sound into electrifying live performances, Aqualine infuses the raw and vibrant elements of their stage presence into their layered studio productions, captivating audiences wherever they take the stage. Tickets for this concert can be purchased HERE.

Swallowtail comprise of Katie Prescott, Caleb Ryde, Drew Vickerstaff and Fred Ford and the band combine the eeriness of The Twilight Sad with the ambiance of Just Mustard. They blend the fuzzy aspects of shoegaze with the intricate melodies of post-punk, creating an elegantly gritty soundscape. Their music captures a dynamic push and pull between noise and clarity, crafting hypnotic yet sharp-edged sonic landscapes. They are very much for fans of Sonic Youth, Just Mustard, and The Twilight Sad.
They dropped their debut single, ‘Spring Guillotine’ back on 24th February, which you can check out HERE. The band then released their second single, ‘Drift’ which was swiftly followed by the track ‘Seesaw’ ahead of their epic debut EP. This too is titled ‘Seesaw’ and it features six tracks, these being ‘Laughter’, ‘To Trace’, ‘Seesaw’, ‘Drift’, ‘Swan Song’ and ‘Vega Burns’. You can pre-save Swallowtail’s ‘Seesaw’ EP on Spotify HERE.

You can watch live versions of ‘Drift’, ‘Clawing’, ‘Goodbye Horses’ and ‘Vega Burns’ which they played for Noize Boys Studio Sessions – Enjoy them HERE.
We first reviewed Swallowtail back in April for their headline set at The Pipeline. You can find out more about the band by delving into our article HERE. We last caught up with the band last month at the Green Door Store – Read our account of that night HERE.
