A driver suffered life-changing injuries in a crash yesterday, Sussex Police said.
The force said: “Police are appealing for witnesses of a collision on the A283, Steyning, on Wednesday afternoon (6 August).
“Emergency services were called to a green Sunbeam Alpine and a white Peugeot Partner van having collided at around 2pm at the junction of the B2135.
“The green Sunbeam Alpine caught fire upon impact, with the fire and rescue service also at scene.
“One driver, an 82-year-old man, from Storrington, is in hospital with life-changing injuries.
“Anyone who witnessed what happened or with relevant information is asked to come forward.
“Information can be reported to Sussex Police via collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk, quoting serial 730 of 06/08.”
