Fire crews are tackling a chimney blaze this afternoon (Wednesday 30 July).
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that it received a 999 call at 2.22pm to reports of a chimney fire in Mill Lane, East Hoathly.
The fire service said: “Five fire engines were sent along with four officers.
“Crews have worn breathing apparatus and used firefighting foam, a main jet and a hose-reel jet to fight the fire.
“As of 3.46pm, the incident was scaled down to three appliances.
“No casualties have been reported.
“Please avoid the area.
“Those in the area, please close windows and doors.”
