Man suffers serious injuries in A259 hit and run

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured when a falling branch caused her to lose control and crash, Sussex Police said today (Saturday 19 April).

The force said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision involving a motorbike in Crawley Down.

“Emergency services responded to reports of a collision at Barns Court, Turners Hill Road, at around 10.50am on Friday 18 April.

“The rider of the motorbike, a 27-year-old woman, was injured when a branch fell from a tree and hit her and her bike, causing her to lose control of the bike.

“The rider was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“Officers investigating the circumstances of the collision would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who may have captured any relevant dashcam footage from the area.

“Anyone with information is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 387 of 18/04.”
