More than 40 men and women from Sussex have been recognised by the King in the New Year Honours List.
They include the author Dame Jacqueline Wilson, the former England football manager Gareth Southgate and Hove business boss and charity founder Rob Starr.
Others include the retired chief executive of the South Downs National Park Authority, Trevor Beattie, the former acting chief executive of Brighton and Hove City Council, Catherne Vaughan, and the former Conservative MP for Bognor and Littlehampton Nick Gibb, who spent many years serving as an education minister.
