Police have arrested three people following a prolonged negotiation with two men on a roof in Eastbourne on Friday (23 August).
Sussex Police received a report of an assault at an address in Crowborough at around 8pm on Thursday.
Shortly after midnight on Friday officers attended an address in Eastbourne to arrest a suspect, when two men climbed onto the roof of a building in Green Street.
Officers, including specialist negotiators, engaged with the men throughout Friday, until the pair safely came down from the roof at around 3pm.
A 29-year-old man from Crowborough was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, criminal damage, obstruction of police and two counts of theft.
A 20-year-old man from Eastbourne was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm, two counts of criminal damage, obstruction of police, and theft of a motor vehicle.
A 54-year-old woman from Eastbourne was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of police. They all remained in custody as of Friday evening.
Road closures were in place as a precaution to ensure that the incident was resolved safely.
Police have extended their thanks to residents and the wider public for their patience while the stand-off was ongoing.
