As warm weather contines, many people planning seaside getaways and no trip to the coast is complete without indulging in ice cream. The Sussex coast is certain to be a popular destination for sun seekers.
New research by the money team at Compare the Market analysed 30 seaside towns to reveal where serves up the most (and least) expensive ice cream. The team contacted three popular ice cream parlours in each location to find out how much they charge per scoop of ice cream and calculated an average.
Port Rush is crowned as the most affordable destination for a scoop of ice cream, with an average price of £2.17. In Sussex you can get your most affordable scoop in Bognor Regis at £2.67. The other cheapest resorts for ice cream are Marate, Scarborough and Plymouth.
But Sussex is also home to some of the nation’s most expensive ice creams. Scoops in Brighton and Eastbourne will set you back will set you back £3.47 and £3.28 respectively. The most expensive ice cream in the UK is to be found in Dartmouth at an an uncooling £3.77.
