Members of a Sussex RNLI lifeboat station are due to welcome the public today (Saturday 30 March) for an Easter open day.
Shoreham RNLI posted on Facebook: “Don’t forget we are throwing open our doors on Saturday 30 March from 10am to 4pm for our Easter lifeboat station open day.
“There is an Easter egg hunt around the station, a chance to tour our all-weather and inshore lifeboats, meet the lifeboat crews, see the model lifeboats and drive a remote-controlled lifeboat.
“There’s also an Easter raffle to win one of our chocolate egg hampers.
“The commemorative scroll which celebrates the RNLI’s 200th anniversary this year and is touring the UK will also be on display at the lifeboat station all day.
“It is the RNLI’s One Crew pledge, in which they promise their commitment to saving every one they can, without judgment – staying true to Sir William Hillary’s vision when he founded the charity in 1824.”
