A child has been flown to hospital with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash this afternoon (Wednesday 27 March).
Sussex Police issued an appeal for witnesses after the accident in Eastbourne.
The force said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a child was seriously injured in a collision in Eastbourne.
“Emergency services were called to a report of a collision between a car and a child in Hazelwood Avenue, Eastbourne, at around 3.50pm on Wednesday (27 March).
“A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
“His next of kin have been informed.
“Inquiries are under way to establish the full circumstances of the situation.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any relevant dashcam or CCTV footage is asked to contact collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk, quoting Operation Glenmore.”
