A boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a hit and run crash in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 2 March).
The 16-year-old was on foot in Friday Street, Eastbourne, when he was struck by a car shortly after midnight.
Sussex Police said: “A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“The vehicle left the scene without stopping and an investigation is ongoing to identify and locate those involved.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage is asked to contact police online or via 101, quoting serial 005 of 02/03.”
An air ambulance was called out but the boy was taken to hospital by road by the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
