Plans for a secure dog-walking field in Wisborough Green have been approved by Chichester District Council.
The application to use land at Northlands Farm House, in Newpound, as part agricultural/part dog walking was given the nod by planning officers.
The field is enclosed by a deer fence and is accessed by a private track off the B2133.
The council received objections from three people, who raised concerns including the ownership of the track, safety, and an increase in people using the field.
But a report from planning officers said the idea was to operate a booking system with the site being restricted to a maximum of four dogs and two people per hour.
The report added: “The proposal’s impact on the character and appearance of the area would be considered minimal, with the deer stock fencing not appearing incongruous within an agricultural setting.
“The site is largely screened from the main road and is surrounded by a number of agricultural fields.”
The proposed opening hours would be 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday from May 1 to September 30, and 8am to 4pm from October 1 to April 30.
