A man was stabbed in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 11 August) and was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
Sussex Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a reported stabbing in Worthing.
“Officers were called to Shelley Road at the junction with Salisbury Road at about 1.10am on Tuesday 11 August.
“A 37-year-old man was injured and was taken to hospital.”
Detective Inspector Lee Simmonds said: “We are investigating a report of a stabbing in Worthing in the early hours of this morning.
“The suspect was described as a slim black man wearing a brown t-shirt and jeans.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area while we carry out inquiries and to provide reassurance.
“We are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.
“This includes anyone with CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage.
“Information can be reported to Sussex Police online, quoting serial 76 of 11/08.”
