Police have arrested a man suspected of carrying out a knifepoint robbery at lunchtime today (Saturday 1 November).
Sussex Police said: “A man is in custody following a report of a robbery in Hastings.
“On Saturday 1 November just after midday, it was reported that a man had entered a shop in Queen’s Road, Hastings, in possession of a knife.
“He went on to steal the takings from the till and fled the area.
“Officers swiftly responded to support the victim and began conducting searches near by.
“Forty minutes after the initial report was made to police, a 26-year-old man, from St Leonards, was detained near by and arrested on suspicion of robbery.
“He has been taken to custody where he remains at this time.
“Officers remain in the area, conducting CCTV inquiries and speaking with witnesses.
