Arrests have been made after a fire at a salon in Worthing where arson was suspected.

Officers were called to the incident at Tantastic, in Broadwater Street, Worthing, shortly before 11pm on Monday 21 October.

An investigation was started to establish the circumstances of the fire which was believed to have been deliberate.

A 61-year-old man, from Wickham, Hampshire, was arrested in Hampshire on Saturday 26 October on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. He has been released on conditional bail.

An 18-year-old man, from Portsmouth, was also arrested at his home address on Wednesday 30 October on suspicion of conspiring to commit arson with intent. He remains in police custody at this time.

Sussex Police said that officers were continuing to work with the council to support those who had been affected by the fire. Inquiries were continuing.

Witnesses or anyone with any information or footage is asked to contact Sussex Police online or to call 101, quoting serial 1408 of 21/10.
