Snow and sleet has reported in Saltdean and central Brighton today (Wednesday 19 November) as temperatures tumbled further.
The first flurries were reported at about 9am although none appeared to have settled.
Outside Brighton, brief snowballs were reported in Storrington, Horsham, Crawley, Haywards Heath and Eastbourne.
Temperatures dropped on Saturday (15 November) and have since fallen further.
A health alert for cold weather was issued on Monday, covering the whole south east of England.
It will remain in force and until Saturday morning (22 November).
The UK Health Security Agency warned people about the potentially significant effects on health and social care services during the cold spell including an increased risk of cold-related deaths.
Advice included keeping homes warm, with a recommended minimum temperature of 64F (18C).
